Atlanta Ballet closes its 84th season with MAYhem, a no-holds-barred explosion of creativity and energy that promises to “catapult over the boundaries of contemporary dance.”
Atlanta Ballet artistic director, John McFall, is back with his first world premiere for the Company in six years. Known for his ability to bring exciting, emerging choreographers and works to Atlanta Ballet, McFall has been the driving force behind the Company’s breakthrough onto the international stage and transformation into a leading dance organization. His new work celebrates the inspiring joy of dance while also highlighting the athleticism and individual talents of the artists he has so carefully brought together. McFall’s premiere will be juxtaposed with a world premiere by the Company’s new resident choreographer Helen Pickett, one of the most in-demand contemporary choreographers of her generation and creator of Atlanta Ballet fan favorites Petal (2011) and Prayer of Touch (2012).
