The biggest traffic hotspot this weekend will be on I-75/I-85 northbound through the city. The Georgia Department of Transportation said motorists should avoid the northbound downtown connector during the day on Saturday if they can, as four left lanes will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Lankford Parkway to Central Avenue for pavement work.
Two right northbound lanes will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Ga. 400 from I-85 to Sidney Marcus Boulevard for concrete work.
Various single lane closures will be in place in and around the Ga. 400/I-85 Interchange project on routes including the Buford-Spring Connector, Cheshire Bridge Road, Sidney Marcus Boulevard and on Ga. 400. Some of these closures are during the day and some are at night.
Overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., there will be triple lane closures in both directions on I-285 between Roswell Road and West Paces Ferry Road for sign replacements. Some of these closures will be in the three right lanes and some in the three left lanes. Motorists should be attentive to signage as they approach the area.
There will be rolling lane closures on the interstates across the metro area each night for sweeping operations.
All work is weather permitting.
