Congratulations to the Dunwoody High School Quiz Bowl team on winning the Dekalb County Academic Bowl on Saturday.
The team went undefeated under the leadership of captain and high scorer Thomas Dellaert, and with great teamwork from Jacky Zhu, Ryan Polk, Varsha Narendra, Zack Bloomberg, and alternates Mary Elizabeth Lee and Ryan Wirtz. The team outscored its opponents by a cumulative 1380 to 340, and finished 430 points ahead of the second place team Lakeside.
Next up for the team is Marist’s Winter Invitational Tournament in January. The field of the WIT is limited to the 10 to 14 highest ranked teams in Georgia.
