Dunwoody Nature Center Auction Committee Gathering this Friday!

This Friday, March 25 from 6-8 pm at the home of Leslie Bauman, you will have an opportunity to contribute to Dunwoody Nature Center’s largest fundraiser of the year.

We need organizers and donated items for a diverse live & silent auction during Nature Center’s annual Monarchs & Margaritas fundraiser May 13 at Glenridge Hall.

Please stop by to sign up to help, while enjoying a glass of wine with your friends and neighbors at Leslie’s house, 1509 Trotters Cove, Dunwoody 30338.  We know this is a busy night, so feel free to bring the kids!

If you cannot attend, please call or e-mail the Monarchs Auction Committee Chairs, Leslie Bauman at (678) 428-6618/ lesliebauman@msn.com or Tammy Anderson (678) 468-2783/ thornanderson@aim.com.

The deadline for auction items is April 22.

We need generous items in the following categories, as well as sub-committee chairs for each category:

  • Art & Entertainment (theater tickets, art work, etc.)
  • Vacation (week long, week end beach, lake getaways)
  • Sports (tickets, lessons, etc.)
  • Gifts (jewelry, misc. apparel)
  • Dining (dinner for 6, wine tasting, pool party, etc)
  • Services and Home & Décor (financial, legal, landscaping, cleaning, other services)

A special gift and recognition will go to the subcommittee which generates the highest proceeds for the Nature Center.

The Dunwoody Nature Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is 100% privately funded.  We are a natural oasis in the middle of a busy community, providing quality environmental programs for families, scouts and students of all ages.  As membership dues and program fees cover only about half of our expenses, fundraising is critical to fulfilling our vision to build an exceptional nature center that promotes lifelong environmental education.

Dunwoody Nature Center inspires the love of nature and cultivates environmental understanding and stewardship by:

•       Conserving and enhancing Dunwoody Park

•       Educating children, families, and adults of all ages about the natural world and our place in it

•       Motivating environmental awareness and responsible action.

Thank you for your assistance for this excellent cause!
