Shaving the way towards the cure for childhood cancer.
Our daughter was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2003. This brave girl underwent 48 weeks of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. Thanks to recent research into childhood cancer Ciara is a happy, healthy Dunwoody Elementary 5th grader.
St. Baldrick’s is a fun and fulfilling way to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Participants, called Shavees, sign up to have their heads shaved in solidarity with the kids who lose their hair during harsh chemotherapy. Friends, family and co-workers sponsor the sacrifice.
Since 2002 participants at this event have raised $550,000.
