Fred the Fox Shouts NO! is a sexual abuse prevention education book geared to children ages 3-10 years old. The book provides a safe, approachable script for parents who may feel uncomfortable broaching this topic. Written and illustrated by two Dunwoody mothers, Fred the Fox is committed to helping parents “Start the Conversation Now!” with their kids. A portion of the profit from every book sale is donated to charitable organizations dedicated to keeping children safe and healthy.
Throughout the month of April, Fred the Fox Shouts NO! is partnering with local businesses in support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Local shops and schools, including Cutie Pies Boutique, Picayune Toys, New School of Music-Dunwoody, St. Jude the Apostle School and Preschool, and Jump Start Gym will sell blue pinwheels, the symbol of child abuse prevention. The goal of this partnership is to raise awareness of National Child Abuse Prevention Month and to raise funds. 100% of the profits from the sales of the pinwheels will be donated to the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, which serves DeKalb and Fulton counties.
In addition to the pinwheel fundraiser, local shops are hosting prevention education events where Tatiana Matthews, LPC and book author will present “Start the Conversation Now! An Adult’s Guide to Teaching Children About Sexual Abuse Prevention”. Ms. Matthews will appear at Purple Hippo Art Studio (April 22 at 10:00 am) and Picayune Toys (April 29 at 7:00 pm).
