A note from the Dunwoody Police about recent thefts in the area

This week we have had several reports of thefts within neighborhoods.  Redfield subdivision has had several garages entered.  In those cases, suspects entered enclosed garages through unlocked doors and removed property and entered vehicles.  It is very important to lock and secure all doors.  By entering closed garages suspects have concealment from police and neighbors that are looking for criminal behavior.

In addition, several apartment complexes in the Sandy Springs/ Dunwoody corridor had vehicles that had their catalytic convertors stolen.  The vehicles targeted were Honda CRV’s, they are targeted for their clearance from the ground and higher levels of precious metals.  This has only occurred in apartments so far but be on the lookout.  If you have vehicles parked in driveways or carports please try to keep these areas well lit or have motion lights in the area.
