News for Kids going to Middle School next year

For those of you with kids going to Peachtree Middle next year I thought I’d forward the latest E-News from PCMS.   I decided that I should go ahead and sign up for the eblast since Troy will begin attending in the fall.   It includes the registration and orientation dates along with links to the summer math and reading packets.

I’ve heard one major trauma that kids go through when entering 6th grade  is the shock of memorizing and working their locker combination.  It was suggested to me by a friend that I should go ahead and teach Troy how to work a combination lock.   They’ll have a combination lock on their regular lockers but will have to bring a combination lock from home to put on their PE lockers.   So I have already bought Troy a combination lock for his PE locker and we practice every day on our way to baseball practice.   He has it mastered and memorized so now he’ll know exactly what to do with his regular locker once his combination is assigned!

This reminded me that I bought milk in miniature milk cartons the summer before my boys entered Vanderlyn because I had heard many kids go thirsty because they can’t figure out how to get their milk cartons open at the age of 5/6!   Y’all probably think I’m insane but I can’t help but forward helpful tidbits just in case it helps at least one kid!

Smiles,

Audra
