Swim & Dive: Congratulations on defeating North Atlanta Thursday! Shoutout to our wet wildcats of the meet: Lauren Schroeder and Ian Ballow. Congrats to Luke Sandberg, Reese Benton, Luke Amerson, and Graham Chang who have already qualified for individual events for the state meet. Go Wildcats!
Varsity Flag Football: On Monday the Cats defeated Mount Vernon and Norcross in shutouts, moving to 6-2 for the season. Shout out to the Kitty Crush defense for their 4th shutout of the year, to Rachel Slutsky for her 1st career interception, and to Sadie Shulman with 4 overall touchdowns on the night. On Wednesday the Cats defeated King’s Ridge 13-6 and moved onto 7-3 (2-1 in the region) for the season.
Volleyball: Congratulations to Dunwoody High’s Alexa Keefe (1st team) and McKenna Willard (2nd team) for being honored as Georgia AAAAA-4 All-Region selections for the 2024 season. The Wildcats varsity, consisting of 5 freshmen and 4 sophomores, finished the season 15-21.
eSports: Fortnite team defeated Penfield Contral School District from New York 13-12. DHS Rocket League continued their success by rolling over Dorchester School District from South Carolina 3-0 and improved to #3 in the nation! Also, Super Smash Bros Ultimate team faced Chattahoochee HS and defeated them 3-1.
Cross Country: The Dunwoody High School Cross Country teams are your DeKalb County Champions taking home the top prize for the Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls and Junior Varsity Boys! The team showcased exceptional talent and determination competing against numerous strong teams. The Wildcats displayed not only their athletic prowess but also their remarkable teamwork and spirit. This victory would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Their commitment to our athletes and the entire cross-country program has played a vital role in our success.
Football/Cheer: The Dunwoody Wildcats celebrated their senior class in style, dominating the Chamblee Bulldogs with a decisive 42-21 victory and retaining the Golden Spike trophy! Senior quarterback Matt Pearch showcased his skills, throwing for an impressive 301 yards on 29 of 41 passes, including 5 touchdowns. He connected with a talented group of receivers, featuring senior Danny Boden (1 TD), senior Porter Allison (2 TDs), and senior Caleb Hamilton (2 TDs).
On the ground, the Wildcats added 145 rushing yards, highlighted by senior Malachi Crenshaw (40 yards) and senior Caden Celestine (91 yards), including Celestine’s electrifying 53-yard touchdown run that sealed the win.
Defensively, the Wildcats were relentless, with senior Preston Cooper earning Defensive Player of the Game honors for his disruptive presence, including multiple tackles for loss. Senior Julian Madison and sophomore Chase Casey also made significant contributions, with Casey snagging an interception late in the game. Junior Cole Camp put pressure on the Bulldogs with two key sacks.
