Description:
Case Managers work directly with clients, third parties, providers, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate is comfortable with computers, operating within case management software, and general office tasks, and excels at verbal and written communication. Case Managers are responsible for handling fact-finding projects and gathering and organizing documents and information.

Responsibilities:
Case Management & Oversight: Independently manage a caseload of 250-300 Social Security Disability cases, ensuring that each case progresses efficiently through the claims and appeals process.

Client Communication & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for current clients. Provide guidance and updates throughout the various stages of the disability claims process, including, reconsideration and appeals. Effectively manage client expectations, address concerns, and provide support during a time-sensitive and stressful period with compassion and empathy.

Evidence Collection & Documentation: Gather and organize medical records, employment history, and other pertinent documentation necessary to support disability claims. Coordinate with healthcare providers, clients, and other relevant parties to ensure all required evidence is obtained in a timely manner.

Administrative & Agency Communication: Maintain regular communication with government agencies such as the Social Security Administration (SSA), Disability Determination Services (DDS), and Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) to facilitate the progress of cases. Submit required forms, monitor claim statuses, and handle inquiries from these agencies.

Case Workup & Hearing Preparation: Collaborate closely with attorneys to evaluate the strength of each claim, assist with legal strategy, and prepare cases for hearings before Administrative Law Judges. Conduct thorough case reviews, compile case files, and ensure all evidence and documentation are accurate and complete.

Legal Collaboration & Teamwork: Work directly with attorneys to develop case strategies, assess case viability, and prepare for hearings. Assist in supporting documentation with the attorney to present a compelling argument for each client’s disability claim.

Compliance & Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive and organized case files, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards. Track all case-related deadlines, submissions, and follow-ups to ensure timely progress.

Process Improvement & Efficiency: Proactively identify and implement process improvements to streamline case management workflows. Stay informed about changes in Social Security Disability regulations and procedures to ensure compliance and efficient case handling.

Qualification Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience in customer service is preferred.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
Knowledge of case management software, Filevine is not required but preferred.

Salary: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year BOE
