Dunwoody Christian School (DCS), home of the Lions, is steering into a new chapter with the debut of its first school bus—a development that’s got the entire K-8th grade school community revved up with excitement! With the new DCS bus hitting the road for the 2024-2025 school year, chances are the Dunwoody community has already seen it cruising around town.
The DCS bus provides morning transportation for students who live beyond the immediate school area, driving home the school’s commitment to connecting with a broader community. Families in more distant neighborhoods now have a smooth ride to access DCS’s exceptional K-8th grade programs. Morning bus stops include Dunwoody Baptist Church and the Orchard Park Kroger shopping center—selected based on a survey of the school community. Families in Sandy Springs, Norcross, Dunwoody, and beyond showed the most interest. In fact, DCS is already gearing up for future routes based on additional interest from its school community.
In addition to morning pickups, the DCS bus shifts gears in the afternoon to transport student-athletes to the school’s athletic annex, located just 3 miles away at Dunwoody Baptist Church. Though DCS relocated from the DBC campus to its new permanent home at First Baptist Atlanta in July 2024, athletes will continue their training at Dunwoody Baptist’s facilities while the schools makes plans for future athletic facilities. The bus will also be on the move for school field trips, including the middle school’s regular visits to the Dunwoody Library.
So, next time you’re on the road around Dunwoody, keep an eye out for the DCS Lions roaring by on their shiny new bus, decked out with the school’s iconic shield logo and forest green decals.
