AT&T Starr’s Mill Panther Meet:
This past Saturday the DHS XC team travelled to Fayetteville to compete in one of the biggest meets of the year. We got to race against some of the best teams in the state and showed them what we are made of. The coaches are thrilled with how our runners competed. Let’s get into the details!
Varsity Girls:
The Varsity girls placed 14th out of 24 teams (2nd among 5A Schools!) scoring 404 points. Freshman Brooke Linard led the girls again followed by Jenna McJunkin, Sarah Jane Shipley, Tamar Amrani, and Chloe Warren. Our entire scoring team placed in the top 100 of a very competitive meet! Way to go Ladies!
Varsity Boys:
The Varsity boys also placed 14th (2nd among 5A schools!) scoring 382 points. Junior Alex Loffredio led the boys with a 10th place finish! Oliver Abbott, Kevin Westrick, Alex Marcus, and Brodie Munn rounded out our scoring team. Great job boys!
JV Girls:
The JV Girls placed 11th scoring 310 points. These ladies began their race as the weather began to get warm but that did not slow them down! Hailey Cook, Amelia Ferreira, Charlotte Coates, Emmy Knight, and Kylee Warren scored for the JV Girls. Awesome run girls!
JV Boys:
The JV Boys placed 10th scoring 273 points. Ben Snead, Cole Young, Xavier Pasquier, Jackson Bacon, and Matias Zapata scored for the boys with an impressive 93 second split (difference between 1st and 5th scorer)! This was the lowest out of our teams this Saturday! Congratulations boys!
Freshman Boys:
The mighty Freshman placed 9th with 204 points! Jensen Elwell, Rocco Koekemoer, Jack Newsome, Lawson Conner, and Nathan Shipley scored for the Freshman. Even through the heat, they scored the lowest points out of our teams!
