June Lunch & Learn with Matt Weber….Realtor, Parade Co-Chair, Podcaster, Coach, Soccer Player, Forum Host, Father, Husband and more!

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

Matt Weber and I had lunch at J. Alexander’s earlier this week. First I’ll tell you about our food and then I’ll introduce you to Matt, although my guess is most of you already know him!

The restaurant wasn’t very crowded at all so our servers were very attentive.  Matt ordered the soup of the day which was Navy Bean Soup and he said it was really great.  He also ordered Alex’s Salad and I had the grilled chicken salad.  We thoroughly enjoyed our meals.  You can review the full J. Alexander’s menu here.

Now let me introduce you to Matt Weber.  The initial reason Peggy and I reached out to Matt for the June “Lunch and Learn” is because he is the Co-Chair of the July 4th Parade.  With the parade being a mere two weeks away, we wanted to chat with him and learn if we can help him get the word out about anything specific about the parade.  Well…they still need volunteers to keep the parade moving along and you can do this from your normal parade viewing spot with your family!  Contact Matt’s Co-Chair, Penny Forman at penny.forman13@gmail.com to learn more about how you can volunteer!

This is Matt’s fourth year as Co-Chair of the parade.  Although there was a torrential downpour during the 2023 parade, Matt was amazed at the turnout and the joy on everyone’s faces while being drenched in buckets of rain!  This year’s parade fundraising has exceeded expectations and the parade is expected to be bigger than ever!

Let me tell you more about Matt….Did you know he is a residential Real Estate agent with Real?  His clients love working with him so reach out to Matt if you want to buy or sell a home in our community!

Matt is probably most “famous” for his role as founder of the What’s Up Dunwoody Podcast.  Matt has recorded more than 250 episodes since 2018!  Peggy and I were #56 and you can listen here!  I just reviewed his list of podcasts and am amazed at all of the people he has talked to!  View the full list here.

Matt’s wife Sasha and sons Micah and Sam

If you don’t know Matt as the parade Co-Chair, or from his job as a realtor or even from his podcasts then you may know him as the founder and moderator of two of the most popular Facebook groups in our community:

The two groups combined have more than 25 THOUSAND members!  Check them both out to learn about restaurants in the area plus community input on a WIDE variety of topics.

Finally, Matt’s most treasured role is that of husband to Sasha and father to Micah and Sam.  They recorded the sweetest tribute to Matt on Father’s Day and you can see it here.

If you see Matt around town be sure to thank him for all of the many positive roles he fills for our amazing community!
