Saint Jude School Named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School

SAINT JUDE THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC SCHOOL NAMED A 2023 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL

(SANDY SPRINGS, GA) On September 19, 2023, Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School, was
named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School as an Exemplary High-Performing School, it’s third
Blue Ribbon Award in 20 years!
The U.S. Department of Education recognized 353 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for
2023. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms and validates the hard work of students,
educators, families, and communities in striving for – and attaining – exemplary achievement.
“The honorees for our 2023 National Blue Ribbon Schools Award have set a national example for
what it means to Raise the Bar in Education,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
Secretary Cardona goes on to say “National Blue Ribbon Schools serve as models of effective and
innovative school practices. Families, communities, and educators work together toward common
goals.”
Exemplary High-Performing Schools are among the top 15% of the nation measured by nationally
normed tests as well as school culture and philosophy, rigorous curriculum, instructional practices, professional development, leadership structures, and parent and community involvement are paramount to this achievement.
Saint Jude Principal, Patty Childs said, “What an honor! This award celebrates the hard work of
every student, the dedication of the faculty and staff, the steadfast support of the parents, and the
unwavering encouragement of our pastor, Monsignor Joe Corbett, and the Office of Catholic
Schools. Everyone in this school community contributes to the excellence and success of Saint Jude
the Apostle Catholic School. This is such a wonderful affirmation and accomplishment for our
school.”
Saint Jude the Apostle has 483 students in Pre-K4 through 8th grade school, is a multiple National Blue Ribbon School awardee, 2003, 2014, and 2023. For over 60 years, this parish school has
has educated families in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Atlanta, Brookhaven, Roswell, Marietta, Alpharetta, just to name a few.
