Recently I received a note from a fellow Dunwoodian who has kids around my boys’ ages and used to walk right by my house on a daily basis on her way to Vanderlyn with her kids. Gosh I miss those days!
I always love connecting with people and was thrilled that our mutual acquaintance, Christine Cooper, suggested Betsy reach out to me. In late 2021 Betsy created a blog (Food-ishness.com) to document her crazy kitchen adventures and has now written a cookbook/memoir. She dropped off a copy for me and I immediately sat down mesmerized by her gorgeous food photos and her witty, quirky, sometimes snarky, and fun style of writing about food!
Betsy was a sports photographer for years and when that dried up during the pandemic she switched to food photography and writing. The resulting book is a collection of comfort foods, international recipes, funny stories, musings, and a little snark. You can win a copy of this amazing foody/cookbook simply by commenting on this post or on our social media posts about Food-ishness.

In the book preview Betsy has a quote ‘Simplicity may be our greatest and most overlooked resource’. Well my cooking has always been very simple so would love her recipes, tips, and snark to jazz it up!
