A total of 14 Dunwoody High School students were chosen to add a creative touch to the Dunwoody Village through this temporary public art exhibit.

The Storefront Art exhibit will return to Dunwoody starting May 18, when 14 Dunwoody High School students will present their final canvases during a kickoff event at 9 a.m. at Dunwoody High School. Storefront Art is a program of Dunwoody Economic Development that features student artwork that will be displayed in the windows of businesses in the Dunwoody Village for up to three months.
“I’m so pleased to see this public art project continue as we find more ways to support student artists and strengthen partnerships with our schools,” said Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch. “We can learn so much from these young artists and their inspirations.”
A total of 37 students from Dunwoody High School submitted creative and competitive designs in April. Business owners and managers then ranked their preferred artwork, and the 14 pieces with the highest points were chosen for this exhibit. The designs were also approved by the Dunwoody Art Commission. The City awarded selected students
$150 for materials and work.
“We’re proud of our students and grateful for the leadership provided by the dynamic
teachers in our visual arts department,” said DHS Principal Tom Bass. “This project has
opened doors to other opportunities that allow students to showcase their work in the community.”
Seven of the designs from the 2022 Storefront Art exhibit are now on display as part of Dunwoody’s Green Light Art project, which features original canvases that were digitized, printed, and wrapped onto traffic light boxes across the city. The 2023 designs will also be considered for future wraps as Dunwoody continues to expand Green Light Art.
“We’re already planning the next phase of Green Light Art, and these two programs go hand-in-hand,” said Dunwoody Business and Cultural Development Manager Rosemary Watts. “We’re bringing creativity and vibrancy to Dunwoody Village businesses now – and to Dunwoody street corners in the future.”

Laura Pollock, Shrividya Guru, Yonji Yang, Pressley Rogers, Elizabeth Buckareff, Amelia Mutert, Zoe Wesolowski, Sophia Mei, Mary Malinoff, Morgan Barrow, Darcy Gaynor, Rowan Riley, Brooke Guggenheim, and Angel Cruz.
