On Monday, March 27th the Dekalb County Championship Finals were held at Buck Godfrey Stadium. Our Wildcats went into the finals in great position from having a Super Saturday. The Lady Wildcats were in first place without any sprinters going into the finals. The Boys Wildcat team was in fourth position but were bringing the heat on Monday with several final contenders.
Blake Williams had his track plate full as he came back on Monday for several races and a relay. He placed 6th in a fast-paced 100m sprint, 2nd in the 110 m hurdles and 7th place in 300m hurdles.
Our Sophomore, Jayden Santil placed 5th in a speedy 400m race. He came very close to running below the 50-minute mark.
Mark Westrick placed 6th in the 3200 after running the 1600 on Saturday, where he placed 6th as well.
Bren Weterrings placed 6th in the 400m race, improving on her prelim time.
Emma Parker came in 6th in the 800 m finals. Her teammate Bobbi Allen was right behind her, placing 7th. Parker also placed 5th in the 1600 after running the 3200 on Saturday.
The Boys’ Team qualified in most of the relays and came to compete in some really fast heats.
The 4X200 Squad of Julian Madison, Ahmad Saidy, Jayden Saintil and Nehemiah Price placed 7th. The 4X100 team of Malachi Cranshaw, Ahmad Saidy, Blake Williams, and Jordan Wade ran against some of the quickest times in the state to place 8th. The 4X400 Relay Team of Addison Hixon, Chris Ennis, Jayden Saintil and Ahmad Saidy came in 5th.
The Girls 4×800 Team of Emma Parker, Chloe Warren, Bobbi Allen and Bren Weterrings placed 4th.
After all of the points were totaled our Running, Jumping Throwing Wildcats did well against 18 Dekalb County Teams. The Lady Wildcats ended a Great weekend placing 3rd at the Dekalb County championships. Our Wildcat Boys Team held their own and came in at 6th.
