Groovin’ on the Green is back with free monthly concerts at the Brook Run Park Amphitheater from June through October.
Dunwoody, GA – April 27, 2022 – Dunwoody Parks and Recreation will bring more music to Brook Run Park in 2022 than ever before with its popular Groovin’ on the Green summer concert series. It will run from June through October and feature free concerts at the Brook Run Park Amphitheater on the second Saturday of every month.
“We heard such positive feedback about the new amphitheater last summer that we wanted to expand our programming this year,” said Dunwoody Parks and Recreation Director Brent Walker. “Community events like concerts have always been the top priority in all of our park surveys, and now we have dynamic facilities to meet demand.”
The Brook Run Park Amphitheater opened quietly during the early months of the COVID pandemic in 2020. A year later, residents and visitors enjoyed their first summer of concerts at the venue, with terraced seating for 500 and room for as many as 2,000 people spread out around the pavilion and Great Lawn.
Groovin’ on the Green 2022 will feature the following bands:
- June 11: The 80ATORS
- July 9: Sassfolk
- August 13: Josh Gilbert Band
- September 10: Family Truckster
- October 8: Elton Live – The Elton John Experience
All concerts begin at 6 p.m. and are family-friendly. Guests are encouraged to walk or ride bikes to the concerts. They can bring their own picnics or pick up dinner from a featured food truck. Dogs (on a leash!) are also welcome.
Dunwoody Parks and Rec will sponsor two additional concerts in conjunction with Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays, presented by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association. The first concert will kick off the Food Truck Thursdays season on May 5 and feature DEPARTURE: The Journey Tribute Band performing on a portable stage on the front field near the playground at Brook Run Park. The second concert is scheduled for the final Food Truck event of the season on October 27 as part of “Truck or Treat.”
