One of my biggest pet peeves is having to run to the grocery store more than once a week. I’ve heard that many of you have to make multiple trips and that is one of the factors in making mealtime so stressful. You may open a recipe and see that you don’t have a minor (or major) ingredient and scrap it altogether or get in the car and spend 30 minutes trying to find buttermilk. I know this list SEEMS like a lot, but you likely have most of it on hand now, and keeping the rest around will prepare you to throw together just about any type of meal. Keeping a majority of these items actually cuts down on some of the specialty products that could send you to the store. I often do a quick internet search to see what I can substitute for what I’m missing and 9 times out of 10, I can make it work. Another bonus is that it keeps your weekly grocery budgets relatively predictable.
Now I can meal plan for the week with relative ease.
