The Senior Smash Season for Janae Profit has ended as a Wildcat. She had an undefeated season in both the shot put and the discus for the Wildcats. She broke 2 records at DeKalb County Championships that had been standing since 1994. Profit broke the Georgia High School Association Championship shot put record that had been standing since 2011. She was the Meet of Champions champion for shot put and discus across all high school classifications. She was ranked #1 in the state and nationally ranked all season long for both shot put and discus. Janae was named the most valuable track and field athlete by GHSA. She was also named to the Atlanta Track Club Powerade All Metro Team. During the Atlanta Track Club Powerade banquet she received the Red Smith Award for Most Outstanding Female Field Athlete Award of the year. Profit is currently a candidate for the Gatorade Athlete of Year for Track and Field. We want to wish her well in this award and as she prepares to continue her student athlete career at the University of Virginia. And if you did anything on Monday, June 14th,2021 in Dunwoody, you did it on Janae Profit Day as newly proclaimed by the city of Dunwoody.
However, Janae hasn’t stopped there. She continued her thrower’s reign by winning USATF National Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships, making her an ALL AMERICAN once again. To top it all off, she was also recently named Georgia Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year Congratulations Janae, continue to make us wildcat proud.
