Today, about 4 in 10 adults report symptoms of anxiety or depression, up from 1 in 10 in 2019[1].
1 in 8 teens has an Anxiety Disorder[2].
1 in 4 young adults have a diagnosable mental illness[3].
In times like these, we have to prioritize our mental health and make sure we take care of ourselves as much as possible. Dan Arnold, Director of Frances Bunzl Clinical Services, has seen a dramatic increase in people struggling with anxiety, uncertainty, stress and depression due to the pandemic.
He explains the root of these increases, saying, “It is the unknown that terrifies people and raises anxiety and increases feelings of depression. Sadly, when the pandemic ends, the mental health issues are going to continue.”
In response to this growing mental health need, our Clinical Services team has been working to find new ways to support our community. In addition to our counseling services and free support groups, JF&CS Frances Bunzl Clinical Services is excited to launch a new e-newsletter, the Feel Better Letter. This mental health and wellness email will be packed with tips, tools, advice, and resources – straight from our therapists.
