It’s time for a new list: Neighborhoods or homes with great Holiday lights!

I’m almost embarrassed to even bring this up!   I have ZERO holiday lights in my yard this year!  My 13 year old was inspired last night after we rode around looking at lights for a while and was going to create a display for me but then it started raining and his grandparents whisked him out of town.   Alas – no lights at the Anders house this year!

Meanwhile a friend seeking lighted inspiration asked me if I had a list of nearby neighborhoods with great light displays.   I found one article on the  Atlanta With Kid Travel Blog  that I posted to my website.   Plus I know that the Redfield Neighborhood always does really well at the light decorating thing!

But what do I know…..I stink at this category!   Please provide your knowledge of nearby festive light displays by using the comments feature on this post!   Maybe some of them will inspire me for next year!

  1. Everyone must see the Alison’s (owner of Alison’s restaurant in the Shoppes of Dunwoody) home in Dunwoody Club Forest (on the lake on Trowbridge). Her family always works hard at creating a beautiful display of lights!

  2. Ours is not the biggest, but I love every day at 530p when our Santa blows up to wave to all passing cars. And now that the kids are out of school, we keep him on until 1130p.

  3. Best kept secret for Christmas Lights and Luminaria would be Wynterhall Subdivision. Young and old participate in incredible lights. We have 100 % participation on Christmas Eve in Luminaria begun 27 years ago and going strong.

  4. Here is the address for a house off of Holcomb Bridge (near Kohl’s). It is quite incredible to see. 1002 Branchwind Close, Roswell, 30076 There are 75,000+ lights synchronized to music. Worth a drive (and we don’t even celebrate Christmas!)

  5. Dear Audra,

I just wanted to say thank you for requesting people’s recommendations for Christmas lights, and thanks to the readers who responded. My kids always like to drive around and look at the lights, and although we don’t celebrate Christmas, we really enjoy the beauty of the season. Ordinarily, we drive around randomly in hopes of finding something good and usually come home disappointed. This year, with your list in hand, we headed straight to Wynterhall and Redfield, and we were absolutely amazed at what our Dunwoody neighbors have done for the holiday.

You do a great service to our community. I know it must be time consuming. Thank you.

  6. There is a house at the corner of Peachtree Dunwoody and Winall Down Roads with more blow up Christmas decorations per square foot than anywhere I’ve ever seen! I was picking up my teenager from a friends house that lives near there and was ASTONISHED! Apparently people come daily to take photographs and gawk!
