Monday evening boosters of the Dunwoody High School Boys Lacrosse team gathered at Village Burger to draw the winning ticket for their Big Green Egg Giveaway. Mrs. Nancy Jester (Member, DeKalb County Board of Education) and Mr. Rodney Swanson (Principal, Dunwoody High School) were present to draw the winning ticket.
The winning ticket belonged to Jo Desantis of Dunwoody.
The DHS Boys Lacrosse team sold tickets to family, friends, and Dunwoody neighbors in an effort to raise funds in order to purchase equipment for their inaugural season of lacrosse.
This incredibly successful fundraiser helped the team to raise over $10,500 through ticket sales and donations! Area merchants Old Hickory House, ACE Hardware, Village Burger and New York Butcher Shop all supported the team by allowing the student athletes to sell tickets on their premises. A special thank you to the many AHA! Connection subscribers who responded to earlier email requests and purchased tickets!
All of the proceeds will help offset the cost of helmets, gloves, uniforms and equipment for the inaugural season of competition.
The Dunwoody Boys Lacrosse team will host their inaugural game February 22, 2012. For more details, or team sponsorship information, please contact Bob Freeman.
The giveaway was sponsored by The Stix Club – the official booster club for the Dunwoody High School Boys Lacrosse Team.
