While the holidays bring joy to most Dunwoody-area families, many children right here in our own community experience Christmas morning without gifts, warmth or adequate food. Recent headlines have highlighted suburban poverty rates rising to historic levels. Many families who work, shop and worship in and around Dunwoody are now considered impoverished … and need our collective help more than ever.
For the past four years Kingswood United Methodist Church, has partnered with DeKalb County Schools and local businesses to provide holiday assistance to underprivileged children and their families at the Love for Kids Christmas Party. This year, the party takes place on December 17th (10:00am – 1:30pm) at Kingswood in Dunwoody, Georgia.
Love for Kids is much more than just a Christmas Party. It is an entire holiday support program including:
· Party for 250 children and family members, held at Kingswood and catered by Hilton Garden Inn/Perimeter;
· Collection boxes for toy, coat and food collections, placed in participating area schools through a partnership with DeKalb Schools and local businesses;
· A coat drive for adults;
· A food box for each family at the Christmas party, with 2 weeks of groceries.
Can you help?
· Donate a new toy,
· Donate a clean, gently used adult coat, and or
· Donate canned goods.
We have already gained support from several sponsors, such as Delta Airlines, Hilton Garden Inn, Bulldog Movers and Kodak, but we need your help too! Please help by dropping off your donations at
