By Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection
One of my college besties and I recently sheltered away together for a few days. It’s so funny to me how every time I go away for time with any gal pals, we all end up learning interesting take-away tidbits! Following are a few items that Carolyn and I took away from the weekend:
- Molly Sims Recommended Malibu Quick Fix for Color Correction
- I put this one on Carolyn’s hair last week and her blonde brightened beautifully!
- Here’s another one that is similar found on Amazon when researching other options.
- Urea Cream
- I had out-patient surgery on a toenail last year and my podiatrist recommended Urea 40% cream to keep feet smooth and callous free. Carolyn and I were sharing my Urea cream and ended up discussing how awesome it is and she ordered her own. Click here to order.

Baby Foot – Original Exfoliant Foot Peel
-
We were obviously barefoot a lot and talking about feet. We didn’t do this “Baby Foot” thing but Carolyn had done it before and says it is excellent and makes your feet so smooth. However, she said only do it when you don’t want anyone to see your feet for four days while they are peeling. And if you have a sleeping partner….wear socks so you do not gross them out.

- Feelgoodz Flip Flops
- This is the last thing I’ll say about feet. I brought a mis-matched pair of flip flops on the trip. Ugh. Shoe stores weren’t open anywhere but surprise….Whole Foods sells Feelgoodz flip flops. The girl at the check-out told me that I was going to LOVE them and that they are better than Havaianas. I agree. I may have to get more colors when the economy springs back to life.
- Cuticle Trimmers
- We both miss our nail salons, but neither are ready to go back yet. So, we painted our own nails and agreed we are both bad at it. However,I own an amazing pair of Revlon cuticle trimmers. Carolyn ended up ordering some for herself.
- Little Fires Everywhere
- I read the book. Carolyn has not. We decided to binge the Hulu series and stayed up way too late one night finishing the final of 8 episodes. Just so you know…the book and the movie differ A TON. I was driving Carolyn crazy pointing out the differences. The series was still good though….I recommend it.
- Firestick/Apple TV/Sling
- When you travel and want to be able to watch non-cable TV it’s important to know whether your destination will have at least one Smart TV. Ours didn’t so we spent way too much time trying to find somewhere to buy a Firestick or an Apple TV but we were finally successful (thanks Walmart). Next time I go somewhere I’m bringing one with me! Oh and did you know Sling TV is free to everyone from 5 PM to Midnight during shelter in place times.
- Ninja Blender
- We tried to be good and have Isagenix shakes for 2/3 meals every day. I brought my Ninja Blender with 16 Ounce Nutri Ninja Cups with To Go Lids that are perfect for creating personalized, nutrient rich drinks to take on the go. If you are interested in learning more about Isagenix email me.
- Dog Treats/Food
- We had Carolyn’s 14-year-old beautiful blind dog, Pretty, with us. She decided once we arrived that she was no longer interested in her regular dog food. She was very happy eating the sautéed chicken I prepared for the humans though. Thankfully, Target had some of my George’s fave foods and Pretty is now a fan:
