Movies I want to see over the holidays!

I love to read and I’ve read three of these four books that have been made in to movies and may have to read the fourth soon.   I was looking up the details to find out more about release dates and thought I’d share some details in case any of you are interested in my kind of books/movies!

The teenager in me loves the Twilight series!  I saw Breaking Dawn Part I this weekend and I NEVER want to see movies twice but I think I really need to see this one more time!  I read the first three Twilight books in three weeks but had to wait FOREVER for the fourth one to be published before I could devour it!   Now I feel the same way about having to wait for Breaking Dawn Part 2!   I thoroughly enjoyed Part 1 on Saturday and thought the ending was perfect!   Word of caution for moms with girls younger than 12ish….It is rated PG-13 for a reason other than vampire blood and gore (the honeymoon hint, hint)…..just keep in mind that you may need to dish out some “parental guidance” if you allow your younger girls to go!

My book club allows the hostess of the month to choose the book.   My last year’s choice when I was hostess was The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.   Almost all of the book club couldn’t get enough and read the trilogy at a mad pace!   I’ve seen the Swedish movie version of the first two books and thought they were very good.   However, I saw a trailer for the Hollywood version that comes out in December and am excited about this story all over again!   It opens in theaters 12/21/11!

Sarah’s Key is another of my book club’s repertoire.  We all enjoyed it and I just discovered there’s a movie that has been out for a while.   It had a limited release but it’s still showing at Phipps Plaza.   In modern-day Paris, a journalist (Kristen Scott Thomas) finds her life becoming entwined with a young girl whose family was torn apart during the notorious Vel’ d’Hiv Roundup in 1942.

Finally – I saw a preview for We Bought a Zoo on Saturday and I think this is a movie that I’ll drag the whole family to!   It’s based on a true story about a man who used his family’s life savings to purchase a dilapidated zoo.   I wonder if the real man is as cute as Matt Damon who plays him in the movie?!   It looks like a heart warming happy ending type story that could be fun for the whole family!   It opens in theaters 12/23/11!

Maybe I’ll see you at the theater and maybe I’ll even have some premiere tickets to giveaway between now and the opening day of these last two!
