The DHS Women’s Team (Team Captain Sara Gelber, Women’s Team Captain Megan Murphy, Assistant Captain Hannah Soderberg and Josie James) wrapped up the season by winning 2nd in the state at the GHSFL Team Championship, bringing home a state trophy for the Wildcats. As a result of the entire Women’s Team’s efforts during the regular season, the Women’s Team went into the tournament seeded #1. The team sealed their spot in the finals by defeating Campbell 45 to 26 and then Lambert 45 to 35, but ultimately lost to Northview in the gold medal round after a valiant effort by the team.
The Men’s Team (Men’s Team Captain Blake Donovan, Assistant Team Captain Jonathan Kopel, Sam James, Jeffrey Berkowitz) finished the season a very strong 6th in the state after defeating Pinecrest 45 to 33, but losing to Pope by just 2 touches (43-45) in the table of 8.
