By Lauren Townsend for The Aha! Connection
A friend recently posted that if you google “wizard of oz” and click on the ruby slippers and then tornado, Google will perform a fun little trick. Kathy Gruenhunt (designer of the original Aha! Connection logo) commented on the post to google “askew” and I started wondering what else is out there. A virtual “Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke, or feature in a work such as a computer program, webpage, video game, movie, book, or crossword” according to Wikipedia. Google is known for having them around the holidays but I always figured they expired, and most do, but here are a few things you can still type into Google for a little surprise:
- askew
- Wizard of Oz
- thanos
- bletchley park
- do a barrel roll
- fun facts
- pacman
- tictactoe
- solitaire
- color picker
- roll a die
- play snake
- metronome
- breathing exercise
- google logo history
- flip a coin
