Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market will open for its 10th season on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 220 Mt. Vernon Hwy at City Springs. The Market, with over 40 vendors, is open every Saturday, 8:30 a.m. -noon April 13 – September 21 and 9:00 a.m. to noon October 5th-December 14th.
The Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market features fresh, local, and organic produce, along with pasture-raised meat and pork products, farm fresh eggs and dairy products, fresh breads, and a wide variety of specialty and prepared foods, as well as jewelry and other artisan items. Prepared, hot and cold foods are also available to eat on site or take home.
Each week features a musician. The first featured Musician on April 13, is David Tyberg. Tyberg taps into the roots of his musical training and his love of the tenor banjo/tenor guitar, focusing on rock/pop favorites, jazz standards, Broadway hits, and his own songs. Periodically, chefs will come and do a cooking demonstration.
Vendors in this year’s market include returning vendors as well as some new products. A few new vendors include, Stoneridge Foods selling spice blends, We Three Girls with fresh, handmade granola, Val’s Kale Chips selling kale products, A Good Gut Feeling selling foods good for your gut, and other vendors with fresh juices, flowers and plants, and much more.
“I look forward every year to seeing my regulars who come get their cheese,” says Robin Schick, Cheese Maker and Founder of CalyRoad Creamery, and a vendor of the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market since 2010. “Opening day is exciting. It’s the beginning of the season for fresh produce and meeting friends at the market. It’s the beginning of drawing the community together once again and sharing an outdoor experience smack in the middle of a big city.”
