Note from Audra: I grew up in East Alabama about 20 minutes from what is now the Kia manufacturing plant in West Point, GA. My father spent most of his career working for West Point Pepperell and was one of the last employees (if not the last) as West Point Stevens closed their United States textile mills. Kia was planning to build their manufacturing facility in West Point just as many of my dad’s co-workers and dear friends were losing their jobs. Kia hired numerous former mill employees and helped to save the economy of West Point. Obviously the theme of their Super Bowl LIII commercial struck a sweet chord with me. For the record, I drive a Kia and I simply love it!
