Longtime Georgia high school football coach Don Savage, an assistant at Norcross for the latter stages of his career, died last week. He was 51.
Savage suffered from autoimmune neuropathy and died of respiratory failure, a complication from the disease. He retired last year from Norcross because of health issues, head football coach Keith Maloof said.
Savage was previously head football coach at both Dunwoody, his alma mater, and Northview. He coached at Dunwoody from 1992 to 2001, serving as head coach from 1997-01. He was head coach at Northview from continue at Gwinnett Prep Sports
