I woke up this morning to the horrible news that a young lady who grew up just a few streets over from me and graduated from Dunwoody High in 2021 was killed in Israel yesterday. I’ve seen many posts, photos and comments about this on social media and via text. A friend shared a personal note from Rose’s mom about her plans to travel immediately to Israel to bury her daughter….her hero. She was apparently a shining light…a cheerleader…a wrestler….a flag football player…and winner of several literary awards plus an amazing sister, daughter and friend.
My neighbors have started a request to adorn mailboxes with blue and white bows to honor Rose. Our goal is for her Mom and younger Dunwoody siblings to see these ribbons in our neighborhood and to know we care…and that we mourn with them. I invite the rest of Dunwoody to join us in this effort to honor Rose.
